Libra Full Moon Venus Goddess Mug
Honoring Imperfect Beauty, Inner Balance, and Divine Feminine Flow
These double-walled ceramic mugs were born under the illuminating glow of the Libra full moon—a time for reflection, relational harmony, and embracing both beauty and truth. At their heart is a hand-thrown and altered interior vessel, sculpted to evoke the female form cloaked in flowing, goddess-like drapery. This form is encased within an outer wall carved with four ionic-style columns, echoing ancient temples built in devotion to love, art, and divine femininity.
Each mug holds approximately 12–14 ounces and is fully functional, though deeply experimental in spirit. For the first time, I challenged myself to carve clay as if it were fabric—capturing movement, softness, and grace in a solid material. I also explored a new glaze technique within the folds of the figure and between the columns, which revealed its own wild temperament: creating pinholes, running unexpectedly, and fusing to kiln shelves. In the aftermath, I turned to epoxy resin to repair and stabilize the mugs—filling in gaps, smoothing rough edges, and honoring the scars left behind.
The subtle amber hue of the resin lends each piece the feel of an ancient relic—like an artifact restored with care and reverence, its imperfections not hidden but hallowed. This mug is both a vessel and a metaphor: a celebration of beauty that isn’t perfect, but whole in its truth.
Libra energy invites us to seek balance—not perfection—and to appreciate what is revealed when we stop judging by surface appearances. Venus, the ruler of Libra, reminds us that beauty lives in vulnerability, in the courage to be seen as we are. These mugs are my practice in that truth—an offering that speaks to acceptance, restoration, and the divine art of imperfection.
Please note: These mugs are priced to reflect their flaws—some resin-patched bottoms and glaze irregularities. Yet they remain fully functional and uniquely beautiful, each one carrying the energy of experimentation, growth, and authenticity.
